I think my favorite part of the day is the nanosecond I have before all the kids wake up. Sometimes, it feels like I have the house to myself and I can look out the window and see the birds or the sun rising without being interrupted. It is alone time with the added benefit of reflection time. No interruptions and a chance to gear myself up mentally for the day.
And now it is time to start...so today I am very thankful for coffee.
This is so true! The minute one kid gets up, they all do (in my case it's only one more), and you will run for the rest of the day!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand the quiet time. I workout from 530am to 555am. Those are the best 25 minutes.
ReplyDeleteI understand the nanoseconds Jennifer. I remember thinking leaving the kids at mom's long enough for a doctor's appointment was a treat. Sitting in the lobby reading a magazine was relaxing and peaceful. Now, I only have two of our four kids at home. It is sometimes too quiet.
ReplyDeleteMy free time is after I put my kiddo to bed. That is when I do not have to hear, "MOM" "MOM" lol
ReplyDeleteI enjoy my quiet time too. I don't have little ones in the house any longer, but I still enjoy being by myself in the house. I also enjoy sitting on the screened porch because I can listen to the crickets and frogs. I really enjoy my down time to relax and do nothing.
ReplyDeleteI don't have kids yet, and while I want them someday, I'm definitely enjoying the freedoms I have right now. I don't know how i'll function when I can't sleep in anymore :)
ReplyDeleteIn my house it truly is a nanosecond. My son seems to hear every move I make in the morning he rarely if ever allows me to sleep in.
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for coffee because my nine year old son is a sack load of trouble and i also I work nights!
ReplyDeleteThanks that there is coffee!!!
